IEC 61850 plays an important part in establishing standards for the design of power plant automation. Communication between substations and equipment within substations requires that response times are in the order of 4 milliseconds and below for correct protective relay operation.

GPS Clock - TCG 01-E

The TCG 01-E is a highly accurate, full featured GPS clock designed for use in smart grid and substations, electricity distribution, transmission, generation protection and control systems.The clock synchronizes multiple IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices) within a network, including protection relays and remote telemetry units, and provides time to all IED to enable accurate time stamping.The TCG 01-E supports IEEE 1588 v2 (PTP) and IEC 61850.

GPS Clock - TCG 02-E

The TCG 02-E is a 1U GPS Grandmaster clock designed for smart grid and substations, and is available as a base unit or with one of three expansion module options. The TCG 02-E is remote configurable and outputs all the major time codes, including IRIG-B, NTP, IEEE 1588 v2 (PTP) and supports IEC 61850.

GPS Clock - TTM 01-E

The TTM 01-E is a reliable and accurate GPS clock with sub-microsecond timing that is used to synchronize IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices) in the power industry and other industries where precise and reliable timing is required. As with all Tekron GPS clocks, the TTM 01-E has electrically isolated outputs, providing excellent noise immunity.The TTM 01-E supports both NTP/SNTP (IEC 61850) and PTP (IEEE 1588).
