Increasingly carriers need to install critical and sensitive equipment in shared facilities. Time and/or budget constraints may lead to the use of locations more open to third parties than would be desired, and the use of a standard build rack suitable for carriers' own switch rooms is simply not appropriate in this environment.

Building on 25 years’ experience in the switch room, Chronos designs and assembles bespoke secure racks to meet customers’ requirements. The racks can be made as physically and visually secure as your application demands; and include appropriate monitoring, control and alerting ready to integrate into your network management system.

The racks, designed and built in Chronos' Forest of Dean facility, conform to the highest earthing and EMC requirements, and are available in a variety of sizes, styles and finishes. They can be based on an existing rack template employed within your network, or on tried and tested racks and assembly techniques already used in our extensive customer base.

Sensors terminate independently within the rack, and the system is architected to allow for upgrades and other changes. Using the Eagle-i or NetGuardian family of devices, all sensor data is made available via SNMP to your Network Management System, and a variety of “get” and “set” functions are also available, depending on your requirements and the type of equipment used.

Racks can be built ready for integration of your equipment, or integration work can be carried out by Chronos at the time of rack build. Rack building and integration is undertaken to Chronos' normal high standards of materials and workmanship conforming to ISO 9001.  A full suite of tests is carried out before the racks are made available for installation.
