Synchronisation Test & Monitoring
 |
SyncWatch Standalone, is the combination of a single SyncWatch probe and in conjunction with the Symmetricom TimeMonitor synchronisation monitoring and measurement application, running on a laptop or desk top computer. The SyncWatch Probe communicates with the TimeMonitor software using an Ethernet LAN connection as the medium.

SyncWatch Managed, operating in this Server/Client configuration is a highly scalable solution for measuring and managing synchronisation quality across a service provider’s infrastructure right to the edge. Mobile operators or large enterprise clients also widely deploy this solution to ensure synchronisation coming from their bandwidth supplier or their own network is fit for purpose.

 |
SyncWatch USB, is the combination of a SyncWatch probe used in conjunction with a SyncWatch USB Key enabling users to configure the probe by simply inserting the USB Key. Once measurement has commenced the collected data is directed to the dedicated USB Key and when logging has finished, the data held on the USB Key can be sent by email or ftp to colleagues or third parties for post processing and analysis.

Synchronisation has in the past been neglected when Service Level Agreements between operators have been defined. However, an increasing number of SLA’s are being written that include key synchronisation features in both traditional and NGN networks.

The TimeMonitor Analyzer application is an advanced synchronization measurement analysis tool with the ability to import and analyze data from a number of sources. These include dedicated jitter/wander tests used in networks and labs throughout the world, GPS/SSU/BITS equipment capable of making measurements, packet timing data using timestamped NTP or IEEE 1588 packets, and counters using the companion TimeMonitor Measurement application.
