Chronos brings CW12 GPS Timing Receiver to UK Market
A functional equivalent for the Motorola M12+ GPS Timing Receiver
Lydbrook, Gloucestershire, UK – 14 March 2006- Chronos Technology Ltd, the GPS and RF Microwave components specialist for designers and products in the professional communications and electronics industry, announces the release of the CW12 GPS Timing Receiver from NavSync, a functional equivalent for the Motorola M12+ timing receiver.
Based on NavSync’s CW25 OEM GPS receiver, the CW12-TIM offers positional accuracy (5m RMS), timing (<25 nsec to UTC) and tracking sensitivity (-158 dBm) improvements to the M12+. The device runs off a 3V supply and provides standard NMEA 0183 data stream, 1pps output and a variable frequency output.
Specifically designed for use in synchronisation and timing applications, the CW12-TIM has an on board programmable NCO oscillator that outputs a synthesized frequency up to 10 MHz that is steered by the GPS receiver. The device has a self survey mode of operation that allows the receiver to enter a position hold mode to enable accurate timing to continue with only one satellite being tracked.
The output frequency is highly stable and accurate and can achieve full PRC MTIE performance for telecom applications. It can also track satellites and provide GPS synchronisation in weak signal areas such as indoor applications. This reduces the need for high antenna placement in many environments.
