Chronos Technology to exhibit at DSEi 2009

Lydbrook, Gloucestershire, UK, 12 August 2009 – Chronos Technology will exhibit a wide range of GNSS components and accessories for GPS, Galileo & GLONASS applications used in location, positioning and navigation for military applications at the DSEi exhibition on stand 219.

On display will be Chronos’ new CTL3500 GPS Interference Monitor which has been designed to detect the presence of too much GPS satellite power or non-GPS signal and interference broadcasting on the satellite navigation L1 channel which could indicate inadvertent interference or intentional electronic warfare attacks intended to jam GPS signals.

Demonstrated on the stand will be CAST Navigation’s 1000 GPS Simulator which is ideal for simulating fast moving platforms to test GPS equipment in a variety of military aircraft, vehicles, ships and personnel equipment.

Representatives will be available from the GAARDIAN Consortium, a business and academic consortium led by Chronos to research disruption activity to GPS reception such as jamming, space weather, multi-path and spoofing which will enable early detection of GPS integrity problems for mission and safety critical applications. GAARDIAN is the acronym for “GNSS Availability, Accuracy, Reliability anD Integrity Assessment for Timing and Navigation”.

Chronos will also exhibit its portable L1 / L2 GPS re-radiator, a high performance, self contained solution designed for rapid deployment in a variety of armed force environments such as aircraft and helicopters (up to 70,000ft), hangars, bunkers, armoured fighting vehicles, field deployable solutions and infantry readiness.

Additionally, Chronos will display GPS & RF over fibre solutions from PPM.  These solutions are ideal for establishing communications in electrically isolated locations and are typically used in satellite comms, broadcast communications, antenna remoting, military and security, GPS timing, cellular and specialist signal distribution applications.

RF microwave components for radar systems and Rubidium products suitable for high frequency reference applications will also be on show.  Chronos also offers portable EMC test chambers which give high levels of RF shielding.
