Lydbrook, Gloucestershire  25 March 2013 - Chronos is pleased to announce that Prof Simon Saunders PhD CEng FIET is delivering the Industry Keynote at Chronos’ Phase Ready event taking place in London on 8 May 2013 at Kings Place.

Phase Ready Event

Over the next few years mobile networks will see an exponential increase in data as a result of the migration to Carrier Ethernet.  Phase synchronisation at the network edge, particularly in urban hotspots, will be necessary sooner rather than later.  Chronos’ Phase Ready event will enable delegates to find out if their networks are  4G LTE-A phase ready and ensure that network rollouts today will still be relevant come the explosion of HetNets, Small Cells and Coordinated Multipoint services (CoMP).

Prof Simon Saunders

As an independent specialist in the technology of wireless communications and founding Chairman of the Small Cell Forum, Simon has a technical and commercial background derived from senior appointments in both industry (including Philips and Motorola), and academia (University of Surrey, Trinity College Dublin), and is one of the most respected voices in his field.

Simon has acted as a consultant to companies including BAA, BBC, O2, Ofcom, BT, ntl, Mitsubishi and British Land and was CTO of Red-M and CEO of Cellular Design Services Ltd. He is Director of Technology at leading consultancy Real Wireless and adjunct professor at Trinity College Dublin. He is an author of over 140 articles, books and book chapters and speaks and chairs a wide range of international conferences and training courses.  Simon, who has invented over 15 patented wireless technologies, has particular expertise in building wireless systems, radiowave propagation prediction, smart antenna design and mobile system analysis. He has served on the technical advisory boards of several companies and has been Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey. A member of the industrial advisory board at University College London, Simon was founding chairman of Small Cell Forum (formerly Femto Forum), which he chaired from 2007-12.  Simon is a member of the Ofcom Spectrum Advisory Board and a co-founder of Real Wireless where he is responsible for overall technical capability and direction.
